Thanks to GEMA’s various programs, I have plenty of opportunities to network, such as the Creative Sessions. It’s fun to get together with other GEMA members there and do what we’re passionate about: making music.

LIVE MUSIC IS THE  DRIVER OF GROWTH

In a challenging economic climate, GEMA achieved excellent results in the 2025 financial year: total revenue rose to around €1.34 billion, whilst the distribution fund reached around €1.15 billion. The main drivers of growth were the live music and public performance sectors, as well as the online business. Music brings people together – whether in clubs, at concerts or at events. When the lights go down and artists take to the stage, that special moment arises which GEMA and its members stand for. The online business and revenue from abroad also contributed to the positive result. At the same time, GEMA was able to further reduce its costs and lower the overall cost ratio to 14.1 per cent, an important step towards a modern, efficient and service-oriented GEMA 2030.
